Why we worship -Part II

Why We Worship Part 2

Psalm 95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Why do we worship as a body? What is the reason for corporate worship? I guess the best reason to worship is because He is worthy of our worship. He is just that good and because He is, we tell Him. As a church we have many reasons to be thankful and to tell Him how much we love Him. He has done so many great things for The River. He has been faithful to provide a place for us to gather. He has healed people of cancer, healed blood diseases, teeth, eye sight, hearts and many other physical diseases. He has been faithful to families, marriages and widows.

But more than our thankful hearts there is truly a gift we receive when we come together and worship. Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” He gathers with us. I have always felt that God knows when our church services are. He has them on His calendar and He participates with us. As we draw near, He draws near and as we said in Part One of Why We Worship, His presence changes everything.

Hebrews 10 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. As a body we have the opportunity to encourage and stir one another so that we remember His love and we can share His love. We reflect HIM!
